Description

Handwoven by women in Uganda One-of-a-kind. Only one in stock.

Baskets like this one are made by women across small villages in Uganda. Most days, they gather outside together sitting in circles under trees, weaving baskets, telling stories, and sometimes a little neighborhood gossip. It’s a craft and a tradition, and it’s also a connection point. The baskets they create are how they support their families, send their children to school, and in some cases build financial freedom from their husbands.

Each basket is made by hand, using natural fibers and earthy dyes, woven in patterns that have been passed down and taught to one another for generations. This star pattern in burnt orange, white, and blue is one of my favorites. It’s bold and bright yet still grounded in the simplicity of natural materials.

You can hang it on a wall or display it on a table, but either way, it carries the same energy it was made with: community, care, and a little bit of storytelling woven into it.

The last photo you see here is me, the SoFe Travel founder, with the women’s co-op who make these baskets their livelihood.
