Fatma, our driver in Turkey
Say 'merhaba' to Fatma, everyone's favorite grandma and a pioneer for women in Turkey. Her career as a driver started when she became the very first ambulance driver the country had ever seen. As her life slowed down, she switched to the tourist track, showing SoFe girls an insider look at Turkey from the best hidden fruit stands and gozleme stops, where to buy the most colorful embroidery (since she is super talented in this art as well, passed down to her from her mother), and supplying endless smiles, coffee stops, and spontaneous road trip dance parties. SO WHAT IS ‘SOFE’?
It started with a bad travel experience – and turned into a lifelong passion combining travel, adventure, connection and community.
After 10 years of traveling on her own, founder Amanda Black started a facebook group called ‘The Solo Female Traveler Network’ to connect women around the world.
One wildly successful 10 day girls trip to Bali later – today 500,000 + women fondly call our network “SoFe.”

How old are your travelers?
Most of our solo travelers are 30-55, bold, excited and ready for adventure. But, we have had travelers as young as 18 and as old as 70!
Sidenote: while we do enjoy a couple of cocktails at sunset, we are not a big party tour – we are here for incredible, quality experiences that we’ll remember forever.
Is travel insurance included? How do I get it?
Travel insurance is not included – but it’s really easy to get set up. You can refer here for our recommendations. It IS mandatory to have travel insurance before you arrive.
What do I do before departure day of a tour?
What’s your cancellation policy?
Unless specified differently, all of our tours are refundable up until 90 days before departure, with the exception of your $550 deposit.
What is the activity level of your tours?
Our activities can be handled by most women, but the ‘level of difficulty’ is specified on each page for each tour. If you have specific questions, please contact us here.
