Here we’ll stop for a visit to Tepesua Village, where one inspiring woman has joined with local communities to foster sustainable livelihoods for Maasai women. Their goal is to eliminate FGM, early marriage and lack of education while promoting empowerment in a culture that still does not view women as equals in society.

Following the visit, we embark on a drive to our overnight destination: The Great Masai Mara, renowned as East Africa’s premier spot for game viewing.

With a touch of serendipity, the regal presence of a black-maned lion, a stealthy leopard, or the unparalleled grace of a cheetah may grace our path.

As we return to camp this evening, keep your binoculars and cameras at the ready to capture nocturnal creatures emerging from the shadows.

Welcome to Egypt! Your adventure begins with an airport greetings and our VIP escort. You will be transferred to our beautiful Cairo hotel before heading out to the best introduction to Egypt: a food tour! Here, our expert Egyptologist guide will lead us through favorite local food hangouts, and we’ll get our first taste of Cairo cuisine.

Day 2

Cairo

Pyramids of Giza, Sphinx, and the new Grand Egyptian Museum

After our welcome meeting and breakfast this morning, we’ll listen to stories of ancient Egypt on the short drive to the famous Pyramids of Giza! Learn why these stunning tombs exist, and how they are so well preserved. Next we get to see the legendary Sphinx (and maybe give him a kiss for a photo!). There’s time to wander solo and absorb the grandeur before we tuck into a traditional Egyptian feast at a beloved SoFe lunch spot. Don’t give into that food coma just yet though, because our next destination is the new Grand Egyptian Museum, an absolute treasure trove of history and innovation. This stunning architectural marvel houses an unparalleled collection of ancient Egyptian artifacts, including the complete treasures of King Tutankhamun’s tomb, many of which are being displayed for the very first time. Wander through its grand galleries, where state-of-the-art exhibits bring Egypt’s fascinating history to life.

Upon arrival, we’ll visit the stunning Philae Temple, which sits on an island in the heart of the mighty Nile River. Dedicated to the goddess Isis, this temple offers a fascinating glimpse into ancient Egyptian spirituality, particularly the important role women played in the culture and religion of the time. Before we leave, be sure to say hello to the friendly local cats that often gather around the nearby café, where you can also enjoy a refreshing glass of their famous lemon mint juice. After that, we’ll head to a traditional Nubian village where we’ll check in to our guesthouse. Here, you’ll explore the village’s colorful homes, meeting the friendly Nubian people, and learning about their centuries-old traditions. In the evening, we’ll enjoy a delicious traditional Nubian dinner, offering an authentic taste of local cuisine and the opportunity to relax in a unique and picturesque setting.

As we explore its vast, open courtyards, you’ll be amazed by the towering columns covered in intricate engravings, the towering obelisks that reach towards the sky, and the grand hall that once held the sacred offering tables. Each stone tells the story of ancient Egypt’s grandeur and spiritual devotion. Afterward, we’ll continue our journey with a visit to the beautiful Luxor Temple, renowned for its stunning architecture and the breathtaking avenue of sphinxes that lead up to its entrance.

Most countries, including the USA, UK, and Australia, are able to get a visa upon arrival to Egypt. In fact, we recommend getting it on arrival because the process is straightforward and fast. With the VIP service that we have arranged for our travelers on day 1, our airport escort will walk you through the entire process.

All you need to get an Egyptian visa on arrival is your passport and $25 USD in cash. The rest is super simple. If you are not a US passport holder, please check to be sure your country qualifies for a visa upon arrival, but the majority of them do.

New Advice for Canadians entering Egypt after October 1st, 2023:

Change 1: As of 3rd Sep 2023, all Canadian travelers to Egypt will not be eligible to Visa on Arrival in Egypt and are required to apply for pre-entry visa in advance. Evisa is still valid for Canadian travelers until 30 Sep, however, it’s recommended that you obtain a visa from the nearest Egyptian Embassy or consulate prior to your departure.

Change 2: Starting October 1, 2023, Canadian passport holders will not be able to obtain a visa online before travelling to or upon arrival in Egypt. Visitors will be required to obtain a visa from an Egyptian embassy or consulate abroad.

If visitors travel to Egypt on an electronic visa on or after October 1, 2023, their visa will be considered void, and they will be denied boarding and/or entry into Egypt.

Canadian travelers should contact the nearest Egyptian embassy or consulate before travel

Unfortunately, there’s not a lot of clarity on exactly what is needed for Canadians to apply for a paper visa with the embassy or consulate but the contact details of the Egypt embassy and consulate in Canada can be found here.

The itinerary is subject to change due for any reason – weather, unexpected cancellations, impromptu local opportunities, or surprise additions.

All bookings are subject to our terms and conditions.

Comprehensive travel insurance is mandatory or you may be refused to join the tour. See our guide for help choosing a plan.

On rare occasions, any domestic flight that we include in this trip may be changed or canceled with little notice.  Remember, we cannot control the decisions that airlines make, so sometimes amendments will need to be made to our mode of transportation. Rest assured that if this happens, we will still get you to your destination. Part of the unique experience of traveling in any form is having the flexibility and grace to embrace detours.
