In a small roadside workshop in Uganda, a father carves each bowl by hand, a craft he learned from his own father. His wife helps run their little shop while caring for their son, and together they keep a family tradition alive through the slow rhythm of wood and fire.
This salad bowl set is made from richly grained mahogany, shaped and char-finished using a traditional burning technique that deepens the wood’s natural color. The result is a smooth, warm surface with a subtle blackened edge, a texture that feels as timeless as it looks.
The set includes one large bowl, one smaller companion bowl, and a matching pair of serving tongs. Each piece is carved, sanded, and finished by hand, leaving behind small variations that make every set unique.
