Why Choose SoFe Travel?

Built for Solo Women

Every trip is designed specifically for solo female travelers. That means no awkward third wheels, no feeling like the odd one out—just instant community, shared values, and support from Day One.

Real Connection

Almost everyone arrives solo, and 92% of our travelers stay in touch long after the trip ends. It’s not just a tour—it’s a chance to make lifelong friendships in some of the world’s most unforgettable places.

Space to Breathe

We build in solo time, always. Want to wander a market alone or skip a group dinner for some quiet? Go for it. Prefer a travel buddy? There's always someone ready to join you. You do you—with the comfort of community when you want it.

No Forced Single Supplements

Forget the extra fees. Our roommate matching quiz pairs you with a like-minded traveler, or you can upgrade to a private room if you prefer your own space.

Is The India Meetup Tour Right for you?

Traditional and Boutique Accommodation

Many of our stays are heritage properties, converted palaces, and family-run guest houses. That means your room might be grand and sprawling, or it might be cozy and quirky. No two are the same, and that's part of the charm. If you need predictable and uniform, this probably isn't the trip for you.

A flexible itinerary

We have a thoughtful plan for every day, but India has a way of surprising you. Traffic, chaos, a spontaneous chai stop, a detour that turns into the best moment of the trip. Go with it. A good sense of humor and an open mind will take you far here.

Activity Level: Moderate

This trip includes walking tours, fort climbs, rickshaw rides, and wandering through lively markets. Expect to be on your feet a few hours a day, sometimes on uneven paths or stairs. We always build in time to rest, reflect, and recharge—but come prepared for a little adventure between tea breaks.

Your India Itinerary

Day 1 - Welcome to Delhi!
Multi-day women-only tour for an Indian wedding

Airport pickup, welcome meeting & your first taste of Indian food

Your India adventure starts the moment you land. You’ll be met at the airport and whisked to your hotel in the heart of Delhi, one of the world’s great cities, where Mughal monuments sit next to chaotic markets and the smell of spices hits you before you’ve even put your bags down.

At 5 PM, meet your travel crew for the first time over welcome drinks, then head out together for your first proper Indian meal.

Meals: dinner

Chai, samosas, a Sikh temple, spice market, rickshaw ride & an evening with a family

Step into the oldest part of the city, where the streets narrow, the energy cranks up, and every corner smells like something you want to eat. We’ll visit the stunning Golden Temple of Sikhs, weave through the famous spice market, and stop for samosas and chai because obviously.

That evening, you’re invited into a local family’s home for dinner. They’ll share their wedding story, flip through the album, and feed you incredibly well.

Meals: breakfast and dinner

BLOCK PRINTING (4)

Travel to the Pink City, block printing demo, wedding shopping & a rickshaw ride through the markets

This morning we head to Jaipur, Rajasthan’s famous Pink City, where the buildings are literally rose-colored and the energy is completely different from Delhi. Settle in, take a breath, and then get ready to shop.

The afternoon kicks off with a block printing demo before heading to a warehouse full of the kind of fabrics, textiles, and jewelry that were made for a Indian wedding. If you want your outfit tailor-made for the wedding events, this is where it happens.

As the sun goes down, we pile into bright pink rickshaws driven by local women, zip through the illuminated market lanes, pass the glowing Albert Hall Museum, and stop for chai. These women run their own business and support their families doing it. It’s a joy to ride with them.

Meals: breakfast and dinner

Drive Time: approx. 5 hours

Amber Palace, jewelry hunting & a Bollywood dance class

This morning we visit Amber Palace, a fortress of golden sandstone perched on a hillside just outside the city. The views from the top are the kind that make you stop mid-sentence.

Back in Jaipur, the afternoon is yours to hunt for jewelry. This city is famous for it, and you’ll quickly understand why.

Then comes the best possible way to spend an evening before a wedding: a Bollywood dance class. You’ll learn the moves, laugh a lot, and show up to the wedding ready to hold your own on the dance floor.

Meals: breakfast and dinner

Sheroes Hangout Café, the Taj Mahal at golden hour

We leave Jaipur and make our way to Agra.

First stop is lunch at Sheroes Hangout Café, a restaurant run entirely by acid attack survivors. The food is delicious, but what makes this place special is the women themselves. They won’t just take your order. They’ll pull up a chair, sit with you, and share their stories. By the time you leave, you’ll have see a first hand glimpse into a tough reality for too many women and supported a cause that changes lives.

Then, the Taj Mahal. A UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most breathtaking structures ever built, commissioned by a grieving emperor as a monument to his late wife. Sixteen thousand workers. Twenty-two years. Pure white marble inlaid with precious stones that catch the light differently at every hour. As the sun sinks in the late afternoon, the whole thing shifts from blinding white to warm gold to soft rose. You’ll stand in front of it and completely understand why people have been making this journey for 400 years.

We don’t want to spoil the rest of the story. You have to see it for yourself.

Meals: breakfast

Drive Time: approx. 5 hours

Welcome by the wedding family, Mehendi ceremony & an evening of color and celebration

Today the wedding festivities kick off, and you’re not a tourist watching from the outside. You’re a guest.

SoFe has deep roots in India. Over the years we’ve built a team, partners, and genuine friendships here. So when our guide’s cousin announced he was getting married, we were invited. And naturally, we’re bringing you with us.

The day starts with a warm welcome from the wedding family, cocktails, conversation, and the kind of hospitality that makes you feel like you’ve known these people for years.

In the afternoon, settle in for the Mehendi ceremony. Skilled henna artists will adorn your hands with intricate designs while you relax, chat, and soak up the atmosphere. In Indian tradition, the darker the henna, the deeper the love. Expect to be very loved.

Morning at leisure, Agra Fort or carpet making, then the main event

This morning is yours. Sleep in, visit Agra Fort, or spend a couple of hours watching master weavers create the intricate hand-knotted carpets Agra is famous for. There’s no rush today. Save your energy.

Because tonight is the wedding.

The ceremony unfolds in a setting fit for royalty, all processions, vows, and ritual steeped in centuries of tradition. Then the reception opens up and it’s all fine food, live music, and a dance floor that nobody wants to leave. You’ll be dancing with people you just met and feeling like you’ve known them forever.

Meals: breakfast and dinner

Scenic drive through the countryside, check in & an evening to unwind

The wedding is behind you. Time to breathe and see a totally different side of India.

We make our way through the Indian countryside to Ranthambore, home to one of the most celebrated national parks in the world and one of the best places on earth to spot a wild Bengal tiger. Today is just about arriving, settling into our beautiful resort, and letting the post-wedding glow carry you through the evening.

Lounge by the pool, wander the grounds, and get to bed at a reasonable hour. Tomorrow we’re up early.

Morning tiger safari through Ranthambore National Park & an afternoon at the resort

Up before dawn. Worth it.

We head into Ranthambore National Park in open-top vehicles as the forest comes alive around us. Monkeys, peacocks, crocodiles, ancient ruins half-swallowed by jungle, and if the morning is kind to us, a Bengal tiger moving through the trees. It’s the kind of silence where everyone stops talking at the same time.

Back at the resort, the rest of the day is completely yours. Swim, nap, sit in the shade with a cold drink. An optional second safari is available in the afternoon if you can’t get enough.

Meals: breakfast and dinner

Countryside drive, village life & a night in a 16th-century palace

Today we go somewhere most travelers never find.

Tordi Garh is a small, quiet village in the heart of Rajasthan that sees very few visitors. We’ll wander through the local markets, visit the old village temple, and spend time with the people who actually live here. After the wedding energy and the safari adrenaline, there’s something really grounding about a place this quiet and this unhurried.

Tonight you’ll sleep in a 16th-century palace, hosted by its owner. The walls have stories. Dinner is local, warm, and exactly what you need after a day like this.

Drive to the Blue City & an evening stroll through the markets

We leave Tordi and head to Jodhpur, known as the Blue City for the maze of indigo-painted homes that spill down its hillsides. From certain viewpoints the whole city looks like it’s been dipped in ink.

Check in, get your bearings, and then head out for an evening wander around the famous clock tower and the markets that surround it. Good street food, good chaos, good introduction to one of Rajasthan’s most visually striking cities.

Meals: breakfast

Drive Time: approx. 2 hours

Mehrangarh Fort, Sardar Market, solo time & dinner at Sambhali Trust

This morning we visit Mehrangarh Fort, one of the largest and most impressive forts in all of India. It rises 400 feet above the city on a rocky cliff, and once you’re inside, the carved sandstone walls and sweeping views over the blue rooftops below make it very clear why this place has stopped people in their tracks for 600 years.

The afternoon is yours. Lose yourself in Sardar Market, pick up last-minute treasures, or find a rooftop café and just sit with it all.

Tonight, dinner at Sambhali Trust, an organization empowering women and girls in Rajasthan through education and economic independence. The meal is wonderful. The company is even better.

A short flight, a free afternoon, and a farewell dinner close it all out.

A short flight takes us back to Delhi for one last evening together.

By now you’ve attended a real Indian wedding, spotted tigers at dawn, slept in a 16th-century palace, and had henna drawn on your hands by a woman who told you her story. There’s a lot to talk about over dinner.

We’ll raise a glass, swap details, and say goodbye to India and each other, at least for now.

HAND-PICKED ACCOMMODATION

Our stays in India are as full of character as the country itself. We’re talking a private plunge pool in the jungle outside Ranthambore, a fort in a village that barely appears on a map, and a palace in Jodhpur built for royalty in 1927. Every property is chosen because it adds something to the trip, not just a place to sleep.

Some rooms will surprise you. That’s the point.

ranbanka-palace
Ranbanka Palace, Jaipur

Ranbanka Palace was built in 1927 for the Maharajadhiraj of Jodhpur and is India’s first certified heritage hotel. We love it because it still feels royal without feeling stuffy. Every room is different, some with antique four-poster beds, and the rooftop restaurant looks out over Mehrangarh Fort on one side and Umaid Bhawan Palace on the other. Do not skip the Ranbanka Thali, cooked by second-generation royal family chefs. You’ll think about it for weeks.

Bagh Serai, Ranthambore
Bagh Serai, Ranthambore

Bagh Serai sits on the edge of Ranthambore National Park, surrounded by open land and the sounds of the forest. Nine private villas built from local earthen materials, each with its own plunge pool and an open-air shower under the stars. Peacocks wander the grounds, lotus ponds catch the light, and the food is grown right on the organic farm next door. After the wedding energy and the safari adrenaline, this is exactly the kind of place you need.

TORDIGARH
Tordigarh, Tordi

You simply cannot stay somewhere like this anywhere else. It’s an 18th-century fort at the edge of a quiet village, and the man who greets you at the door is a direct descendant of the family who built it. Rooms have stained glass windows, the vegetables on your dinner plate were grown on the property that morning, and if you wake up early enough, you can hike up to the fort at sunrise. Travelers tell us it ends up being their favorite night of the entire trip.

We match you with your most compatible roommate

We get it—sharing a room with a stranger can feel like a gamble. That’s why we’ve partnered with a professional matchmaker and psychologist to create a bespoke roommate matching quiz, designed to pair you with someone you’ll actually click with.

Whether you’re an early riser or a night owl, a social butterfly or someone who values quiet time, our quiz helps ensure you’re matched with the best possible roommate. And if you prefer your own space, you always have the option to upgrade to a private room.

No stress, no awkward surprises—just a trip made better by great company.

MEET Komal

YOUR GUIDE FOR THE TRIP

Komal has been working in the travel industry from past 10 years. She started her career in tourism as a tour guide at time when it was very rare for women to work in such a profession and hence became one of the first female guides in Delhi.

Komal is very passionate about India and its culture and that’s what she loves about her job too. She gets to introduce people to the real India and its people and change a lot of misconceptions that exist about India. 🙂

There’s a very interesting fact about the diversity of India, it is said India is so diverse that in every 100 kms the dialect, the culture, the taste of food, the lifestyle and even the way chai is made changes, isn’t that fascinating! Her aim is to uplift the local businesses and promote responsible travel in India where we can leave positive footprints wherever we go!

*things happen, so if it’s not Komal, you will have another incredible, experienced, and vetted guide.

Day 1 - Welcome to Delhi!
woman traveling solo in India tour

Airport pickup, hotel check-in, and welcome dinner.

Namaste and welcome to India. Touch down in Delhi, where ancient temples, buzzing markets, and modern chaos share the same heartbeat. Your SoFe guide will meet you at the airport and bring you to our hotel — a calm landing spot before the adventure kicks off.

Tonight, we’ll gather for a welcome dinner to get to know each other, sample our first Indian dishes, and toast to the colorful days ahead.

Meals: dinner

Ride through Old Delhi, visit a Sikh temple, and share dinner with a local family.

Get ready to see Delhi from a whole new perspective. Hop on a rickshaw and wind through the bustling alleys of Old Delhi, where scooters weave past spice stalls and the air hums with energy. We’ll stop at a historic 18th-century Sikh temple, an oasis of calm amid the chaos, before continuing to the lively Chandni Chowk square—a feast for the senses in every direction.

Once you’ve worked up an appetite, follow your nose to Khari Baoli, Asia’s largest spice market. Cardamom, chili, cinnamon—it’s all here, piled high in colors so vivid they almost don’t look real. After some downtime, we’ll meet again in the late afternoon for a hands-on cultural experience with a local family.

Try on traditional Indian attire, learn wedding customs, dance to Bollywood beats, and cook together for a delicious, laughter-filled meal that captures the warmth of real Indian hospitality.

After a bit of downtime at the hotel, we’ll visit India’s most iconic landmark — the Taj Mahal. As the sun dips low, the marble shifts from gold to rose, a quiet reminder of the love that inspired its creation. Take your time to wander, reflect, and snap those photos that never quite capture the feeling of being there in person.

In the evening, we’ll see Jaipur from a fresh perspective—the back of a bright pink rickshaw. Driven by women from low-income households, this inspiring initiative gives 200 women new opportunities and a voice in their community. As we zip through bustling market lanes, past the illuminated Albert Hall Museum, and stop for a cup of steaming chai, you’ll experience Jaipur’s magic and empowerment all at once.

After breakfast, we’ll head to Jawai, a quiet countryside village known for its rare harmony between people and leopards. Nestled among boulders, caves, and rivers, it’s home to one of western Rajasthan’s largest water reservoirs—and to a community that protects the wildlife living alongside them.

This afternoon, take time to rest, wander the grounds, or simply listen to the stillness before sitting down for lunch to fuel up for our evening safari.

As the sun dips below the horizon, sip hot chai and homemade snacks, then gather around the bonfire under a sky full of stars. Out here, it’s just you, the quiet, and the wild.

Arrive in Udaipur and dive into Rajasthan’s most romantic city.

This morning, we’ll set off on a scenic drive to Udaipur, the famed City of Lakes, where palaces float on water and every corner seems designed for daydreaming. Upon arrival, the day is yours—wander the historic old city, stop by the ornate Jagdish Temple, or simply enjoy the calm from our beautiful heritage hotel.

Later, meet with a renowned local astrologer and palm reader, ready to share stories written in your stars. As night falls, we’ll gather for a vibrant Rajasthani folk show, where music, dance, and color weave together in a perfect finale to our time in Rajasthan.

Meals: breakfast

Celebrate India’s most magical day with a local family.

Today is the moment we’ve been waiting for—Holi, India’s most joyful celebration of color, love, and light. Forget the crowds; we’ll be welcomed into the home of a local family, where the festival is intimate, authentic, and completely unforgettable.

Music fills the air, laughter spills into the courtyard, and soon you’re swept up in the moment—throwing bright clouds of color and flower petals, dancing to Bollywood beats, and learning local traditions and rituals most travelers never get to see. Between bursts of pink and gold, the family serves their favorite homemade dishes, each one a story in itself.

It’s messy, it’s beautiful, and it’s everything India is known for—chaotic, warm, generous, and alive. There’s no better way to close this journey than covered in color and completely in love with the spirit of this place.

Whether you choose to unwind and relax at your accommodation, venture into local markets for shopping, or embark on further exploration of the area’s attractions, the choice is entirely yours. Ask your guide for recommendations!

HAND-PICKED ACCOMMODATION

Our stays in India are as full of character as the country itself. From boutique hotels tucked in Jaipur’s pink lanes to heritage havelis overlooking Udaipur’s lakes and luxury glamping tents under desert stars, every stop is chosen for its comfort, location, and story.

Each property offers a sense of place—thoughtful design, warm hospitality, and local touches that make you feel part of the destination, not just a visitor passing through. Expect premium comfort, beautiful views, and a few surprisesyou’ll still be talking about long after you get home.

ranbanka-palace
Ranbanka Palace, Jaipur

Ranbanka Palace, Jodhpur feels like stepping into a royal love story. Built in 1927 and still home to the original family, it’s  vintage but comfortable in all the ways that matter.

We choose Ranbanka because it captures the heart of heritage Jodhpur without feeling staged. It’s close to the city’s best sights, filled with local character, and the kind of place where you can unwind after a day of exploring — by the pool, in the courtyard, or under the warm desert sky.

Godward Camp, Jawai

Godwad Camp sits in the heart of Jawai’s leopard country, surrounded by granite hills and endless open sky. The canvas tents are simple but beautifully done, with thoughtful touches that make it feel both wild and comfortable. Evenings end around the fire as the sounds of the desert drift in — a reminder that you’re in the middle of something untamed.

We choose Godwad Camp because it offers authentic wilderness without giving up comfort. The camp is run by locals who know every story of this land, the food is fresh and home-style, and it’s perfectly placed for sunrise and sunset leopard safaris. It’s the kind of place that captures the soul of Rajasthan — raw, quiet, and real.

Royal Regent, Agra

Royal Regent is our modern hideaway in the heart of Agra, just minutes from the Taj Mahal. The rooms are bright and comfortable, the rooftop terrace is perfect for sunset drinks, and there’s a quiet sense of calm that feels like a gift after a day in the city.

We choose Royal Regent because it’s stylish, reliable, and close to everything without feeling touristy. The staff are warm, the food is surprisingly great, and the rooftop views remind you why you came — to see the world’s most famous monument glow in the evening light.

Kamal has been working in the travel industry from past 10 years.

What our travelers have to say

Female solo Tour India

Great leaders | Jamy G.

“My favorite part was visiting the forts, palaces, mosques, and temples. Our hotels were extraordinary. I struggled with the cultural/social behaviors of males toward females- especially in Mandawa during Holi. These women (the guides) are treasures and I admire all three of them. I would join a tour that I knew one of them led!”

India Solo Female Network Tour

Welcoming | Jenni R.

“I was heartened by how welcoming people were in India and will never forget the seemingly infinite unique sari and kurti outfits on dazzling display everywhere. SoFe’s itinerary was a great blend of cultural, historical, and social activities and our tour leader helped in many ways to keep us having fun, even over long days of traveling.”

Like-Minded Travelers | Michelle P.

“If you are thinking about doing a SoFe tour -do it! It’s totally worth experiencing at least once. It was so awesome to connect and explore a country with like-minded solo female travelers. I loved getting to experience a country and connect with other SoFe travelers.”

Nikki, the tour leader, is fantastic at her job!

“Nikki, the tour leader, is fantastic at her job and I think she was born for this job! Nikki kept calm in all circumstances, her travel experience really shone through when troubleshooting situations or offering advice, and she has the patience of a saint. She also has a perfect sense of humor that can blend in any crowd! She is fantastic at her job. She approached everything with a sense of humor, is an experienced traveler, was constantly counting heads to make sure everyone was accounted for, and her motto, which she said repeatedly, was “do what makes you happy!” Michelle P.

I really appreciated the security of going with a group.

“I loved getting to experience a new country and connect with other SoFe travelers in network. I really appreciated the security of going with a group as well, especially for a country such as India. I also appreciated that our first bus was BRAND new so it was very comfortable and easy to rest during long hours on the road, and also made for a secure place to leave our belongings with the driver while we were out exploring.” Michelle P.
