Bali + Gili Islands May 21 - 31, 2027
From
$2750Questions women ask before booking
Is this trip right for me?
Boat days depend on the sea. If the waves are too big, fast boats to the Gilis are cancelled and we reroute to Candidasa on Bali for the night.
Pack light for Gili. There are no cars on the island, so it’s about a 450-meter walk from the harbor to the hotel. Porters are available for a small fee.
Cover up for temples. Bring a top that covers your shoulders. Sarongs are part of the blessing ceremonies.
How active is this trip?
Light. You’ll do short walks on the Campuhan Ridge and through the rice terraces, a few temple steps, plus swimming and snorkeling. There’s plenty of free time to rest.
The longest drive is about two hours, to Jatiluwih. The speedboat to the Gilis takes about two hours and can be bumpy.
Where do I arrive and leave from?
Arrive: Bali Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) on day one, any time between 8am and 5pm, and we’ll pick you up. Land by 3pm so you’re settled in time for the welcome meeting at 6pm.
Leave: Bali Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) any time after noon on the last day. It’s about 30 minutes from Canggu. Your airport drop-off isn’t included, but your guide can help you arrange a ride.
Do I have to share a room?
Only if you want to. Twin-share rooms are included in the price, or you can upgrade to a private room. If you share, you’ll take our roommate compatibility quiz, built with a professional matchmaker and psychologist, and we pair you with someone who fits how you travel: early riser or night owl, social butterfly or quiet recharger.
Will we stay in the places shown on this page?
Usually, yes. These are the places we book. Now and then one is unavailable, and we swap it for a stay of the same standard or better.
Do I need a visa?
Most travelers need one, but it’s easy. US, Canadian, UK and Australian passport holders can get a 30-day visa on arrival at the airport, or apply online for an e-visa before you fly.
Requirements depend on your passport, so once you book, we’ll walk you through exactly what you need, step by step, until you land in Bali.
Do I need travel insurance?
Yes, travel insurance is required for every traveler. When you book your spot, you can add a plan from our preferred insurance partner in a couple of clicks, or choose your own provider and add your policy details any time before departure.
What’s not included?
International flights.
Travel insurance, which is required.
Visa fees, if your passport needs one.
Tips for your guide and driver.
Your airport drop-off on the last day.
Meals not listed in the itinerary.
Optional extras, like massages, yoga or a surf lesson.
What if I need to cancel?
90 or more days before departure: we’ll transfer your deposit to another SoFe trip, any date or any destination. Or we’ll hold it for up to a year until you’re ready to choose.
Fewer than 90 days before departure: payments are non-refundable, so you’d claim through your travel insurance. That’s exactly what it’s there for.
