SOlo Female Travel
Overall, Japan is an excellent destination for both first time solo travelers and also those with more travel experience. Crime levels are low. It is generally safe to walk around at night and to travel on public transport, although you should maintain the same level of vigilance as you would at home and take sensible precautions. Reports of inappropriate touching or ‘chikan’ of female passengers on commuter trains do occur. The police advise that you shout loudly at the perpetrator to attract attention and ask a fellow passenger to call the train staff. Some experiences are accessible only with a group, and there are destinations that you will have a hard time accessing alone. This is where our Meetup Tour to Japan excels!
