“This was my 2nd solo trip with SoFe. I initially went to Bali and because that tour was so good I decided to go to Egypt meetup and I am so happy that I did. This tour was EPIC…
The hotel that we stayed at in Cairo was not an American 5 star hotel, however, I understood that I was not in America and I should not expect the same room quality. Barring the carpet in the room the hotel was very nice, EXCELLENT SPA.
When going on a solo group adventure you must understand that there will be a lot of different personalities and everyone may not click, yet the group of Goddess I was with were AWESOMENESS. We all interacted together like we were friends for years. The tour leader was was amazing, she handled us with care and provided great leadership. The tour guides were exceptional, I learned so much in a very entertaining way. The tours were NEVER boring, PLUS we had time to explore each place we visited on our own.
The felucca ride on the Nile River was spectacular, the Goddess got know each other much better and that is were we began to truly open up. For me it was a dream come true and so unreal. The Nile River Cruise was so much fun and the stateroom I stayed in was top notch.
The resort we stayed at in Hurghada was absolutely 5 stars. It was Perfect all inclusive for the most part. I got to snorkel in the Red Sea. The night life at the resort was not the best to me, however, I could of went outside the resort and had a night out if I wanted to.
I would rate this tour a 10/10. We did so much and had options to do other things for an additional price. I saw so much, yet I was not overwhelmed. If you are open minded and have no expectations walking in, you will have the time of you life. I had such a great time, I was educated, I partied, I relaxed. This tour was a great mixture of everything for me. I loved it so much I will do it again and invite more friends to join me.'
“I found the solo female traveler network group on FB in the beginning of 2019 I believe and I got inspired by all the travel stories & pics posted. I saw that SoFe had a trip to Egypt and Egypt was on my bucket list! I got so excited and started researching Egypt & SoFe…
I was a little scared because I didn't know what to expect! I never traveled internationally alone before. I thought to myself why not push myself out of my comfort zone & go on an adventure! My Egypt trip was amazing!! I met 12 amazing women on this trip that looked out for each other! SoFe did a great job organizing the trip. The hotel accommodations were good in Cairo (Steigenberger Pyramids Hotel), Soma Bay near Hurghada (Movenpick Resort), and the Nile cruise we had. We visited many temples, learned about the culture, and had different activities available to us. I had many firsts: sunrise hot air balloon ride over the Nile River in Luxor, rode a camel in the Sahara desert, sailed on a Felucca on the Nile River, ATV ride in the Sahara desert, and submarine ride. Sam was a great knowledgeable tour guide! He made sure we were safe and helped us get what we needed/wanted: ATM, SIM card, falafel, camel meat, souvenirs, etc.
I made some new friends from all over the world by going on one trip! I keep in touch with some of them and hope them again. I would recommend taking a SoFe trip if you are looking for some adventure, relaxation, knowledge, and like minded women to travel with!'
“SOFE was my first experience with not only a booking agency but also my first tour group/meet up. Honestly, I was a bit nervous about how a group of 20ish women would gel, but from the moment I got there, I was truly floored at the fast friendships that developed…
This was the most suprising aspect of the trip for me. Yes, we are all solo travellers, but a lot of us are that way because we can never find people from back home who have the time/money to travel with us! SOFE brings together like minded adventurers from all over the world, and every lady there was a badass with her own story to tell. LOVED IT.
The itinerary itself I thought was very well done. Of course there were little details that everyone could nitpick but this is based off personel preferences--you are not going to get everything you want on a group tour. There are simply too many people to please. That being said, I was very happy with how it all went. It was such a luxury to not have to think about transport from one town to another, booking cars, safety, how to navigate the local attractions, etc. I was able to switch that planning part of my mind off, and that was AMAZING!!
Egypt is a newer tour I believe and there were very minor kinks that were being worked out real time, but I was impressed with the leadership and their willingness and ability to both troubleshoot, find solutions, and listen to our feedback. I'm sure every tour they do will get better and better.
The tour leaders (Melinda & Nikki) were fabulous--approachable, impressive and fun--fellow travellers like ourselves. Egypt--perfection!!! A group tour was the right way to see Egypt without a doubt. I was a bit hesitant to tackle this country on my own and after being there, I know I made the right decision. I felt safe with the Egyptologists/Guides who were always with us, helping us navigate respectfully the local customs/culture. And speaking of, without a doubt another major highlight was the Egyptologists who led us in all activities. Sameh & Adham--would highly recommend to anyone. They immersed themselves in our groups so that they were just another friend--but a smart one who knows everything about Egyptian history 😉 Without the backstories and details they brought to the table, I fear the monuments, temples, ETC would have fallen just a little flat. They brought the whole thing to life with their obvious passion.
I never thought group tours would be my thing but I had such a memorable (dare I say lifechanging without ppl thinking I'm making up this review??) experience that I will definitely book another. Before you book just remember, not everything will be perfect. Some flexing is necessary. Groups mean different personalities. Focus on peoples positives--everyone brings something to the table. Do yourself a favor and give the reigns to someone else for a change and book a trip w with SOFE. You won't regret it!'
