Our next stop is the ruins of the Amberd Fortress. Originally built in the 7th century by Armenian royalty (and rebuilt several times over the prevailing centuries) this fortress in the clouds is perched on a cliff a cool 2,100 metres above sea level.
After stopping for a lunch of scrumptious local food, we are off to the Centaur Hippotherapy Centre. Centaur is the first – and only – centre in Armenia for therapeutic horse riding. Here we will chat with the female founders about their work, help to feed the horses and even go for a ride if you want!
After saying goodbye, it’s time to visit the Armas Winery. Enjoy a wine-tasting as well as a delicious dinner at the on-site restaurant before heading back to Yerevan for the night. Meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner
